Undead Siege: cover, waves, and the two-thumb layout

A desert-town wave shooter on Pokii Games: shamblers, armored undead, a mutant every five waves, and a control scheme that feels broken if you treat it like a tap-to-throw arcade.

What you are actually doing

You hold a town against waves. Shamblers, armored army zombies, and cops close in. Every fifth wave adds a hulking mutant. Cover is wrecked cars, rocks, and cactus — peek, shoot, duck. Clearing a wave returns some health, so living to the end of the wave is the recovery mechanic. There is no lobby and no other human. Score is a survival number in this browser.

We file it under action with a shooting tag. It is not Cannon Attack (auto-fire portrait cannon) and it is not Knife Hit (tap knives). If you open it expecting one-thumb taps, you will walk in circles and send a confused email. Read controls once.

Desktop versus phone, spelled out

Desktop: WASD or arrows to move, mouse to aim, hold left button to fire. That hold matters. Click-spam is weaker than a held stream when the wave is a crowd. Phone: left side of the glass drags movement, right side drags aim and holds fire. The middle is not a “shoot” button. Fullscreen helps so your palms have room.

Landscape on a phone is the compromise. Portrait is cramped for twin-stick. A laptop is the intended desk toy. The phone-or-desktop guide lists Siege with the keyboard games that punish touch. Believe it.

Cover is the skill, not the sprite

Standing in the open to “track better” is how a cop and a shambler eat you during wave four. Use a car. Reposition between waves if you can. The mutant on wave 5, 10, 15 is the check that you learned cover — it is not a cutscene. Strafe more than you backpedal into a wall.

Health return at wave clear is why a greedy last kill in the open is silly. Finish from cover. Reload your nerve, then peek. We wrote that on the game page tips because it is the difference between a 3-wave run and a 12-wave run.

How this compares to Cannon Attack

Cannon Attack is portrait, drag-to-aim, auto-fire up, keep circles off the bottom, drone drops, pause on the home card. It is a score chase you can play on a train. Siege is a twin-stick survival you should play at a table. Both save a best locally. Both are original pages with unique how-tos. They are not clones of each other with a palette swap.

If you only have a phone and one thumb, stay on Cannon Attack, Knife Hit, and Speed Boat. Come back to Siege when you have two thumbs or a mouse. We would rather you enjoy a title than pad a session with the wrong input.

Load, mute, and fail states

Click-to-play. The town can take a moment to appear. Mute is in the build if the soundtrack is a lot on a bus. Dying is the end of the run; there is no continue screen that asks for an email. Retry is the point.

If the character does not move, you are not in the move zone. If the gun does not fire, you are not holding fire on the aim side. If the canvas is black for a long time, refresh once, then another current browser. Then contact with device and browser name.

After a decent wave count

Try Cannon Attack for a lighter shooter. Bunker Duel if you want shooting with thinking and wind. Cross Runner if you want action without aiming. Do not expect Coil Arena snakes to be teammates. Do not expect Court Clash 2P controls to map onto Siege.

This guide exists so the action shelf has written commentary beyond a thumbnail. A wave shooter with a real control paragraph is the opposite of an embed farm. Use the game page FAQ for the short version; use this page when you are about to quit because “touch does nothing.”

A first run with a goal besides “don’t die”

Survive to the first mutant (wave 5) from cover. Then stop and decide if the layout clicked. If you never found the left-stick / right-aim split, do not start a second run until you have. A laptop makes that obvious. A phone in portrait fights you. Rotate. Fullscreen. Then hold fire on the right half.

Cannon Attack remains the train shooter. Siege is the desk shooter. The action-shelf order puts Siege late for this reason. We would rather you like Cannon Attack than rage at a twin-stick you opened on a bus. Score saves locally. There is no cloud revive.
