Which Pokii Games belong on a phone (and which want a keyboard)

Portrait vs landscape, tap vs WASD: a practical split of the Pokii Games catalog so you stop fighting the layout on a commute.

The player follows the build, not a magic responsive flag

Some titles on Pokii Games were authored in portrait (3:4 or 9:16). Others are 16:9 landscapes. We do not stretch a tennis court into a phone column and call it mobile-first. Rotate the device. If you force landscape bowling on a wide monitor it still plays; if you force portrait tennis you will hate the net.

Portrait, thumb-first

These are the ones we open standing on a platform: Strike Bowling, Speed Boat, Cannon Attack, Ink Flow, Hue Vials, Grid Getaway, Stall Slide, Dart Clear, Heart Path, Mergis, Orb Volley, Knife Hit Emoji, Crane Stack, Cross Runner, Galaxy Hole, Drifting Mania.

Inputs are tap, swipe, or a hold. If a portrait game “does nothing,” you are probably missing a hold (Drifting Mania’s rope) or a two-zone stick (Undead Siege — that one is action, but it is playable on a phone if you give the right thumb aim).

Landscape, or at least a wider slab

Court Clash, Penalty Ace, Goal Shot, Ping Pong Ball, Runway Router, Coil Arena, Ridge Rally, Glam Closet, Bunker Duel: these want width. A phone on its side is acceptable. A laptop is better for Router (drawing paths) and Rally (arrows).

Runway Router in particular is miserable as a tiny portrait scribble. Draw short paths on a tablet or mouse. Coil Arena’s snake wants a landscape hex field; the mobile stick is there, but the desktop mouse is the clean steer.

Keyboard games that punish touch

Ridge Rally’s gas/brake/lean is a chord. Undead Siege on desktop is WASD plus mouse-hold fire. Bunker Duel’s power charge is a hold on Space. You can poke on-screen pads, but you will climb slower. If you only have a phone, pick the portrait list above and save Rally for later.

Sound and fullscreen on mobile browsers

Safari and Chrome both block autoplay audio until a gesture. Our click-to-play is that gesture. Mute lives inside the game iframe more often than in the site chrome — look for a speaker on the title card of the build.

Fullscreen is worth it for portrait runners and bowling. It is less important for Hue Vials, where you want to see the site’s hint text anyway. If a game looks letterboxed, rotate first, then fullscreen.
